Happy launch day, everyone! We’re thrilled to unveil the latest and greatest Chalkup. If you’ve logged in today, you’ll have already noticed a familiar look and feel with some super powerful adjustments.

Before we dive into tutorials and walk through the new features (which we can’t wait to show you - more coming this week) let’s talk about why we decided to take it to the next level.

Here at Chalkup we’ve been passionate about learning from day one. Our goal has been to connect classes and give students and teachers the resources that they need (and want) to do more. This includes tools to better manage courseload, share resources, and collaborate on assignments.

Learning Management Systems have been around since before 1999, and by-in large they were built to manage learning. However, managing isn’t what we set out to do. We want to dramatically improve educational outcomes for students.

In designing this new version of Chalkup, we took the time and care to think deeply about everything that actually should be in a LMS. We challenged our own thinking, and certainly challenged the decisions of every LMS before us. We thought first and foremost about the students and teachers that actually use it every day. This new Chalkup is a culmination of all of our learning and of the feedback and suggestions from our dedicated users.

So, we propose the Class Collaboration Platform, not learning management. We propose a tool that truly elevates your course and leverages technology to keep conversations going after class is dismissed. We propose something that responds to the demands of real teachers, like seamlessly integrating with Google Drive.

The version of Chalkup that launched today was engineered to move our product forward with these goals in mind. We hope you love it as much as we do, and that’ll you’ll keep learning - and collaborating - with us.
